Mr. Sterling is deeply skeptical, but Elias mentions intimate, private details of his conversations with Lila—the fairy stories, the memory of her running into the ocean at age five—details only Lila could have shared. This gives Mr. Sterling pause.

Before he can decide, Celeste and Dr. Evans arrive. They furiously demand security remove the “delusional” boy. As Elias is being dragged out, he shouts a final plea to Mr. Sterling to check the medicine bottles and turn off the machines, stressing that the tubes are still pumping poison into her.

Part 4: Confrontation and a Father’s Choice

Mr. Sterling, reeling from Elias’s words, begins to demand answers. He asks Dr. Evans how Elias knew about the private memories. When Dr. Evans and Celeste struggle to explain, Mr. Sterling’s doubts solidify. He demands to see all of Lila’s medical records. Dr. Evans and Celeste panic.

At that moment, Elias, having escaped the guards by creating a diversion, rushes back into the room.

“Tell me everything you know, now,” Mr. Sterling commands Elias.
