During the match, a commentator introduced him as “Harry Wales,” a moment that was captured on video and shared online. The clip sparked backlash from royal watchers, with some accusing Harry of using a title associated with his brother, Prince William. The name “Wales” is linked to William, who is the Prince of Wales, and to his immediate family.

Harry previously used the surname Wales during his childhood, when his father, King Charles, held the title Prince of Wales. However, he was formally given the title Duke of Sussex by the late Queen Elizabeth II on his wedding day in 2018 — a title he continues to hold despite stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
