During the service, readings reflecting love, compassion, and human connection will be delivered by stars including Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, comic Babatunde Aleshe, and rising actor Joe Locke, accompanied by pianist Paul Gladstone Reid. Candles will be lit by people the royal couple has met over the years, along with guests participating in the service, highlighting stories of individuals fostering a more caring society.
Attendees will also have the chance to add their names to a “connection tree,” symbolizing the power of togetherness and the significance of human connection. In addition, 15 community carol services will take place across the UK—from the Coronation Street Visitor Centre to an arts center in Newbury and a community farm in Gwent—sharing the same message of love and unity.
The Westminster Abbey service will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve and repeated on Christmas Day.
