In the boardroom showdown, Lucía plays the wounded wife, painting Elena as a predatory gold-digger. Laura and Ricardo push back with the DNA test, the financial records, and their key witness: Raúl Núñez, now retired, who admits he was paid to intercept Elena’s letters.
He produces the final letter Elena wrote, which he could never bring himself to destroy. In it, Elena rejects hush money and writes about wanting Laura to at least have a chance to know her father.
Then comes the knockout blow: an audio recording Marta secretly made of Lucía bragging about intercepting every letter and sneering that Laura would “never carry the Salgado name.”
The partners are horrified. They condemn Lucía’s actions as unethical and possibly criminal. Whatever protection her family name once offered is gone. Ricardo announces he’s divorcing her and offers to step down if his personal scandal hurts the firm.
Instead, encouraged by Laura and key partners, he chooses honesty. At a press conference, Ricardo admits his past cowardice and regrets but exposes Lucía’s long-term scheme to erase his daughter.
