He exhaled. “Things that will keep both of us safe if you just listen.”
Carla snapped, “She’s done listening.”
Ethan’s jaw clenched. “Emily. I’m your husband.”
I stepped back. “Are you? Because the man I married wouldn’t fake an injury, hire impostors, and trap me in a hospital.”
