Nearly 15 years after capturing global attention as maid of honour at Princess Catherine’s wedding, Pippa Middleton is back in the spotlight for a moment she likely didn’t anticipate.

Over the weekend, the 42-year-old mother of three was noticeably missing from her sister’s annual Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.

But it soon emerged that Pippa was in Abu Dhabi with her husband, James Matthews, attending the Formula 1 Grand Prix — where she unexpectedly became the centre of a viral clip.

The On-Air Snub That Launched a Viral Moment

In footage shared by Sky Sports F1, Pippa and Matthews — a former racing driver and board member of the Williams F1 team — were speaking with guests in the paddock when pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz approached during his Qualifying Notebook segment.

The veteran reporter was canvassing reactions to the title fight between Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen when he spotted the group.

“(That’s) James Matthews from the Williams team. I don’t know whether he has a view on Max, Lando or Oscar. (He’s with) Rebecca Donaldson, Carlos Sainz’s other half,” Kravitz said, failing to recognise Pippa entirely.
