Lily sat beside me, stronger now, her hand resting on her growing belly.
“Did you ever like baking those cookies?” she asked with a small smile.
I laughed softly. “Not once.”
She leaned her head on my shoulder.
“I’m glad you’re just my mom now.”
“I always was,” I said.
