Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have experienced another change within their media circle. Meredith Maines, who has served as Chief Communications Officer for the couple, confirmed on December 26 that she is leaving her position after less than twelve months. Her exit marks the eleventh departure within five years for the Sussex public relations staff, a number that has drawn attention from those who follow the couple’s work and public image.
Maines brought two decades of PR and marketing experience with her, having previously collaborated with major brands that include Google and Hulu. She joined in March 2025, overseeing communications across the couple’s nonprofit foundation, business projects and streamed content. This included support for Meghan’s podcast and Netflix series titled With Love, Meghan. In her departure statement, Maines thanked the Sussexes and explained that she will take on a new professional position in 2026. Until then, she plans to remain in place through the end of the year.
