The 12-year-old Prince George of Wales has started to advance his training for his eventual role as King by appearing more frequently alongside his father, Prince William, at key royal engagements.
Traditionally, the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales attend only a limited number of public events each year, reflecting William and Catherine’s commitment to giving them as normal a childhood as possible.
However, 2025 has been a particularly notable year for Prince George. The young royal has already undertaken three high-profile engagements without his siblings, highlighting his increasingly defined position within the monarchy.

Careful Preparation for a Unique Role
Royal commentators believe George is “being well prepared for his unique future royal role” following his recent solo appearances.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained that George’s growing presence at major public events is part of a thoughtful and measured approach by his parents.
“As George gets older, he is making more appearances at events of particular significance, especially those with links to the armed forces and sport,” Fitzwilliams told The Daily Mail.
