Palace Denials and Continued Allegations
The rumors, first circulated by Calleja—who specializes in celebrity biographies—were swiftly dismissed by a palace source as “total nonsense,” “fundamentally, totally made-up,” and “absolutely not the case.”
The insider also claimed the journalist made no attempt to verify her information with anyone in the household.
Despite this, Calleja stood by her account. Appearing again on the Spanish show Fiesta, she repeated that Kate had been in serious danger and said she trusted her source after 27 years covering the royal family.
“What happens is that they feel upset because we have discovered the truth,” she said. “This happens when you touch a nerve, it is annoying.”
She also alleged that Kate was hospitalized on December 28—just days after Christmas—and that doctors later set up “practically an entire hospital” inside Adelaide Cottage for her recovery. The Palace declined to comment further, confirming only that Kate had undergone “planned abdominal surgery.”
