A royal commentator has claimed that Meghan’s apparent lack of “affection” for the UK could hinder any meaningful progress toward repairing Harry’s fractured relationship with his family.

Meghan’s Absence From the UK

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, has not returned to Britain since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.

Their children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, were last in the UK earlier that same year during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

While Harry, 41, has made several solo trips back to Britain — including visits to see his father, King Charles — Meghan and the children have remained in the United States.

Security Battle and Legal Fight

Harry has previously said it is “impossible” to safely bring Meghan and their children to the UK after losing access to taxpayer-funded police protection when the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

Since then, the Duke of Sussex has been locked in a high-profile legal battle with the Home Office in an effort to have his security reinstated.

After a string of legal setbacks, reports now suggest the government is set to grant Harry automatic armed protection when he and his family are in the UK.
