“I lied from the beginning,” Michael admitted. “Every ‘I love you’ was built on lies… but it was still true. I love her. And I know that sounds monstrous.”
Rachel asked about the girls.
Michael showed photos: Valerie, 9, loved ballet and math. Sofia, 6, shy but sweet, loved animals.
While Michael spoke with obvious parental pride, Ethan and Lucas had to face a brutal reality: their father had been a father to other children in the way he couldn’t be to them.
“Do you know their full names?” Michael asked suddenly.
