The prediction comes after the Royal Family has faced several serious health challenges in recent years.

King Charles, 77, continues to undergo treatment after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February 2024.

In December 2025, it was confirmed that doctors had scaled back his treatment after he “responded exceptionally well”, though he has not been described as being in remission or “cured”.

“Today I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders’, my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year,” the King said in a speech.

“I know from my own experience that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Yet I also know that early detection is the key that can transform treatment journeys.”

Kate’s recovery and reflections

Princess Kate also underwent treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer in 2024 and confirmed in January 2025 that she was in remission.

“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” the Princess of Wales, 44, wrote on Instagram.
