Recently disclosed emails connected to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation have shed further light on how the late Queen Elizabeth II was said to have regarded the controversy surrounding her son, Prince Andrew, after a widely circulated photograph linked him to Virginia Giuffre.
Giuffre, who passed away last year, had previously alleged that she was pressured into encounters with the former Duke of York in the early 2000s. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied the accusations. In 2022, he reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre that included a charitable donation supporting victims’ organisations and contained no admission of liability.
According to ITV News, one email written by a close adviser to Prince Andrew suggested that the Queen remained personally supportive of her son, while also viewing his association with Jeffrey Epstein as a serious lapse in judgment. That view was reportedly outlined in correspondence that later formed part of the broader Epstein document releases.
