Sienna froze as if her brain refused to process what she’d heard.

“What… did you just call her?”

The manager continued evenly. “Ms. Hale, the paperwork to cancel Mr. Hale’s resort account has been completed. All cards connected to your name that were being used under his authorization have been blocked.”

Sienna went white.

I removed my sunglasses and met her stare.

“Sienna,” I said, voice steady, “I’m not housekeeping. I’m the owner of the resort you just tried to use as your personal stage.”

Then I looked at Derek.

“And you called me naive?” I asked quietly. “Naive is a man who steals his wife’s card to fund an affair… at the resort his wife owns.”

Derek’s knees hit the pavement.

“Vivian—please—I can explain—”

“No,” I said. Simple. Final.

I turned slightly toward security.

“Escort them off the property. Lifetime ban. And make sure they don’t take so much as a towel.”

“Yes, ma’am,” the guards replied in unison.

Sienna started yelling as reality crashed into her. “Let go of me! Vivian, this isn’t over!”

“It is,” I said, turning away. “And Derek—don’t bother coming home. I changed the locks.”

I watched them go out through the gate.
