No one believed her.
Daniel turned to her, voice low and final.
“You will never go near her again.”
He carried Lily out.
At the hospital, the truth was devastating. Severe malnutrition. Stress-induced ulcers. Sleep disorder. The doctor asked if something had frightened her. Lily said nothing.
Daniel understood everything.
He watched the cafeteria video again and again, then called his lawyer. No silence. No protection. No excuses.
Back at the school, he played the footage for staff. At first, no one spoke. Then one teacher admitted she had seen it before but stayed silent out of fear. Others followed.
The truth spread.
Claire was removed, charged, and eventually sentenced. The school publicly apologized. Daniel filed for divorce immediately.
