Seeing her finally react,Jack smiled faintly.“In New Metro,without my permission,no one dares to take your case!”
It was clearly midsummer,but Wendy felt like her heart had fallen into an icy pit.
Her body trembled.Tears streamed down her face.“Jack…are you threatening me?”
Jack bent down and gently wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes.“Wen,as long as you go home with me obediently,I’ll handle your brother’s case.”
Hearing this,Wendy laughed coldly.Back then,Jack had said the same thing.He promised to take care of her brother.He said everything was under his control.But things resulted with her brother’s life getting ruined.
She was no longer the Wendy from two years ago.“Jack,I won’t believe a single word you say anymore.”
Jack sneered and turned to Tiara behind him.“Spread the word to every law firm in New Metro.Anyone who dares take the Windfield Family’s case will never survive in this city again.”
Then he looked back at Wendy.“Wen,I’m the only person you can trust now.Either come home with me and I’ll pretend nothing happened,or keep fighting me.”
He added,“You choose.”
