Suddenly, it hit me—Jason had the same blood type.
In my panic, I had completely forgotten.
I quickly picked up my phone and called Jason.
"Jason, you have to come to the City General Hospital right now! Olivia's been hit by a car, and she needs a blood transfusion!"
"Jason's busy right now, call back later."
A sweet voice interrupted me before hanging up.
I could tell it was the voice of Jason's first love.
Jason had told me he had a business meeting this morning. I never expected he would be with her.
I didn't have time to care about what was going on between them and called back immediately.
No one answered the phone until the fifth call.
"Maddie, I'm in a meeting. Stop calling me unless it's important."
Jason's tone was very impatient.
"Jason, you need to come back now. Olivia needs a transfusion. Your blood type matches hers."
"Blood transfusion?"
Jason scoffed.
"Maddie, you're starting to sound like those melodramatic soap opera wives, making up any excuse to get me back home."
Tears choked my voice as I pleaded.
