Before he could ask anything, Lily, with red eyes, threw herself into his arms.
"Ken, I'm so scared! I heard about the recent dismemberment case. I'm terrified..."
Ken held her tightly, stroking her head comfortingly.
"Don't be afraid. I'm here. No one can hurt you."
My eyes turned wet; that kind of tenderness used to be exclusive to me.
Lily looked up with tearful eyes, her voice soft and almost dripping with emotion.
"Have you been back to see Violet? I know she has a lot of hostility towards me, but those were all misunderstandings. I want to apologize to her in person when I have time."
Ken's face gradually turned cold, the warmth in his eyes disappearing, leaving only disgust.
"Don't mention her. I wish that woman was torn to pieces!"
Lily blinked, leaning on Ken's shoulder, a sly glint in her eyes.
I couldn't hold back any longer, tears rolling down my face.
"My dear husband, as you wish, the place where you stand is where I was dismembered.
"If you bend down, you can see the bloodstains under the sofa that haven't been cleaned up yet. But can you find them?"
Ken let go of Lily, sniffing the air.
"Lily, why does it smell like blood here?"
I tensed up, looking at Lily.
