Rodney still thought that I was petty.
"Well, if you don't want to give me the money, I'll find a way myself."
Rodney searched through all the drawers and cabinets at home, and I knew he was trying to find my card.
Rodney left in anger after he didn't find any money and the card.
No one bothered me anymore. My work had been going smoothly these days, and I was waiting for the institution in the neighboring city to successfully enroll students.
A week later, I received Rodney's message: [Go to Clevel Hospital to finish Macey's discharge procedures.]
I read the message silently and ignored it.
It was my day off, and I made myself a meal at noon.
Rodney came back with Macey. When he saw me having noodles, he became angry.
"Cecilia, why don't you go to the hospital?"
I finished the noodles in the bowl and put it in the dishwasher.
Before I said anything, Macey sobbed softly, "I'm sorry, Cecilia. I didn't know you were busy today."
"Is she busy? She's off today."
I listened to their words and found them noisy.
I was about to go back to my room to rest, but Rodney grabbed my arm.
"Cecilia, I was too busy to take care of you when you had a car accident. Can you forgive me?"
