Sarah collapsed onto the floor, sobbing.
Charles gripped my shoulders. "Celia, Sarah needs you. Only you can save her. You must take on the responsibility of being her mother."

Charles dropped to his knees, desperation in his voice. "There are no cameras at the village entrance, and the person she hit didn't see Sarah's face. Just say you were the one driving. You are the one who could save Sarah!"
His parents also knelt down. "Celia, we've never blamed you for not having your own children. We've treated Sarah like our own granddaughter. She got into such a good university. She can't be ruined now, or we won't die in peace!"
Sarah looked up at me, tears streaming down her face. "Mom, I want to go to university. I don't want to go to jail! Please save me!"
I feigned tears. "But Sarah, I don't want to go to jail either..."

Sarah was on the verge of hitting the wall. "If I have to go to jail, I might as well die!"
Charles pulled her back and shouted at me, "Look at what you're doing to her, Celia! Why are you so selfish? If you don't take the blame, should I go instead?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Why can't you go?"
"I..."
