Hailey took the roses, hugged me tightly, and gave me kisses.
I could remember the thunderous applause given by people around us.
Just as I was lost in my memories, Hailey's phone rang again.
It was not a phone call, but a message.
After reading it, her face changed greatly.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Something happened to Mathew!"
"What happened?"
"He was poisoned by alcohol and sent to the hospital for emergency treatment!"
Hailey suddenly stood up as if she was sitting on pins and needles.
"I'm sorry, honey. I have to go back to Riverland to see him."
"You can ask a subordinate to deal with that kind of thing," I said flatly. "We're so far away from Riverland. Do you have to come all the way back to Riverland on your own?"
Hailey looked hesitant, but in the end, she made up her mind, "I heard from the doctor that Mathew's life is in danger. He was poisoned because he had to entertain his clients. As his boss, I should go back and have a look.
"Honey, I'll fly back to Riverland tonight.
"Why don't you stay here for several days? I'll come back to you when Mathew is fine, okay?"
"There's no need," I waved my hand. "I'll travel by myself for the next six days.
