I looked at Emery with disgust, saying, "Emery, what does Matthew mean to you? Is he someone you can kick away when you don't want him, and take back when you want? He's a living person! He's not someone you can order around!“
"No, I didn't abandon him. I had no choice..." Emery kept shaking her head and speaking incoherently.
Lily couldn't stand it anymore, saying, "Don't you dare to admit what you've done? You are so disgusting!"
"Three years ago, Matthew's company went bankrupt, and his father committed suicide by bearing debts. When his mother was seriously ill, weren't you the one who abandoned him and went abroad? Weren't you the one that didn't contact him for three years? Why are you pretending to be miserable now?"
Lily's words made Emery tremble even more. Her face turned pale, and she collapsed to the ground.
The shop assistant was stunned by what she had heard.
"What are you doing here?" Matthew's voice rang out. It was unknown whether he was happy or angry.
Emery got up from the ground and pounced on Matthew. Matthew dodged. She missed and almost fell to the ground.
"What on earth do you want to do?"
