Someone shouted in my ear:

"Hey gorgeous! Can I buy you a drink?"

I stopped and turned to look at the guy.

Our eyes met, understanding each other instantly.

I sized him up.

Oh? Not bad at all.

I smiled slyly.

Then I slipped my hand into his belt and pulled him towards the bar.

Two drinks were served, and I immediately poured his drink into my glass.

Seeing his puzzled look, I smiled and said:

"Impairs functionality."

Everything flowed naturally, and we were about to leave the bar.

But as soon as we stepped out, we ran into Lucas Barnes.

I pretended not to see him, walking past him with the guy, but he grabbed my hand.

"Kelly Drew, are you that desperate?"

What was that tone, angry? Anxious? Sad?

I was about to speak when the guy next to me quickly said:

And then he fled back into the bar.
