My wolf had warned me in my previous life about how Amara was a witch and might be a dark one at that but I was too occupied with being jealous that I didn’t listen to her. But this time, it’s going to be different.

My gaze trailed to where she was, tucked in a dark corner of the hall. A small smile played on my lips, no one was paying her attention. Rowan was done talking and was heading to the bar when I approached him, a big smile on my face.

“My love,” I rested a hand suggestively on his arm, pressing myself close to him “I can’t believe you’re here after all those long months. I missed you".

“Me too,” He chuckled, kissing my lips. “I’ll just have another glass of wine and go rest up. As much as I am enjoying this, my duties as Alpha resumes tomorrow. All the pack elders are full of your praises – they said you handled the affairs of the pack in my absence".

“I just tried my best,” I said and then in a low voice “The woman you brought with you… do you know anything about her?”

“Amara?” Rowan’s expression softened as he said her name. “She was held captive by the rogues. You cannot imagine the wicket things they’d all done to her. It’s a miracle she survived each terrible ordeal".
