But every penny Emma spent was blamed on me. Every man she flirted with became proof of my infidelity, making Levi hate me even more.
So even though there were many inconsistencies today, Levi believed Emma's words without question. He was not even bothering to investigate.
"So, if I hide your son, you suddenly can't have more kids?" I said coldly.
My tone was icy as I added, "Besides, can't you check if I spent your money? Who even wants your filthy money?"
Seeing that I wasn't backing down, Levi slammed my head against the desk. I was blurred.
His chest heaved with anger, as if he might explode at any moment.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"Charlotte, I picked these flowers for you today. They're fresh and beautiful..." Isaac said, pushing the door open.
Isaac's words trailed off as he took in the scene.
Levi turned and smirked. "So this is your suitor, huh?" he said, crossing his arms.
"Who are you?
"You're hurting her. Let her go," Isaac said. He gripped the flower stem tightly and looked at me nervously.
Levi smiled smugly, not loosening his grip at all. "I heard you found yourself a wealthy fiancé. Is it this guy?"
I didn't say anything and let Isaac misunderstand.
