By the time Beckett caught up with me, I had already left the mall. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and I struggled against him, feeling completely out of sorts.

Since he didn't understand, he questioned me, "Baby, what's wrong? Can you tell me?"

I tried to ignore him, resisting his attempt to hug me.

He held me tighter and sighed, "I came right over as soon as I got your message. I just had a bit of trouble finding you and wasted some time. I'm not mad anymore, okay?"

I wasn't mad about that. So why was I angry? Didn't he get it?

I was about to cry in a river.

Dahlia also came out at that moment.

Beckett didn't look back, but I could tell that something had changed in him. His body seemed more tense. He tightened his grip on my arm.

I even caught him glancing back.

Overcome with emotion, I burst into tears and shouted, "You jerk!"
