"When did he come back? Didn't he leave Tina in poverty back then and go far away?"

Anger blinded me. Possessed by irrationality, I had an urge to rush in and question her. Then I heard her voice.

"I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to chat with you due to the time difference. It's good that you're back."

Jacob raised his hand playfully and flicked her nose. Tina smiled.

I clenched the cake rope. The veins on the back of my hand bulged. I used to flick her nose with my hands.

But she reacted strongly, saying that I wasn't allowed to touch her nose in the future, let alone kiss her lips with my mouth.

Seeing her angry, I suppressed my doubts in my heart. I thought, "Isn't it normal for lovers to do these things?"

I kept coaxing her for a few days, constantly pleasing her by humbling myself. Only then did she smile and let me go.

"A year ago, you said the company was getting better. I wanted to come back then. Something happened. I couldn't leave temporarily."

Jacob reached out and touched her curly hair. Given how intimate they were, they were not like ordinary friends. Instead, they were more like a couple in love.
