Since Rachel hadn't been home for so long a time, Snowball didn't even recognize her. It thought she was an intruder and barked at her.
Rachel glared at it when she suppressed me with one hand.
"Your animal is just as annoying as you are," she said.
Snowball sensed her malice and began to strike back by biting Rachel's ankle.
"Hiss..."
The pain drove Rachel to kick Snowball away.
Poor Snowball rolled all the way down the stairs and fell dead silent after a weak howl.
Immediately afterwards, large amounts of blood gushed out from its small body, soaking its snow-white fur.
"Snowball!" The last ray of light in my life seemed to have dissipated along with it.
Luna loved Snowball. I still remembered the smile she had one the day Snowball came home with her.
"Dad, its name is Snowball, and you will be its grandfather from now on. When mom is not home, you won't be lonely with it by your side," Luna said at that time.
This furry little guy stayed with me through one long night after another.
When I first brought my family's ashes home, I cried so hard that I fainted at home.
Snowball was leaning in my arms, licking the palm of my hand with his wet and warm little tongue.
