I was not the one at fault, yet she demanded me to leave with nothing!

I wanted to say something, but Laura didn't give me the chance. She slammed the door shut and left.

I still worried about her. She went out alone at night. What if something dangerous happened?

After a while, I put on my clothes and followed closely behind her, only to see Laura and the man I had seen during the day hugging each other and entering a hotel.

In the scorching hot summer, I felt like I was in an icehouse.

Trembling, I called Laura, but it took her a long time to answer.

She sounded out of breath.

"You're so annoying. Can we just take a break and calm down?"

If I was furious when I found out about her affair before, now I felt like I'd lost all my emotions.

"Where are you?"

"I'm at my best friend's place. Okay, she's going to sleep now, so stop calling."

Then the call was hung up.

I looked at the brightly lit hotel building, feeling like my legs were as heavy as a thousand pounds.

I didn't even know how I managed to drag my heavy body back home.

My phone rang again right after I lay in bed.

"Are you Laura Parker's husband? She had an accident and is in the hospital. We need her family member to sign the paper."
