About
In the dark heart of Blackwood Forest, Emily's life hangs in the balance, teetering between loyalty and the bitter truth of unrequited love. Luke, her mate, is haunted by the ghost of his past—Ayla, the one who vanished without a trace and has returned, cursed and desperate. As Emily confronts the painful reality that she has always been a mere shadow in Luke's life, the stakes rise. Can she break free from the chains of unreturned affection before it consumes her?
Every moment spent with Luke feels like a reminder of the love he reserves for another, and Emily is tired of being his second choice. When the moonlight casts eerie shadows around them, she must decide: is she willing to fight for a love that has always belonged to someone else, or is it time to reclaim her own heart?
As tensions mount and the forest whispers secrets of betrayal and longing, the choices they make will reverberate through their lives. Will Emily finally find the courage to walk away, or will the pull of the past draw her deeper into a love fraught with pain? In this tale of longing and heartache, nothing is as simple as it seems, and the true battle may not be just for love, but for one's own identity.
It All Started With A RejectionChapter 1
Emily’s POV
The moment my eyes fluttered open, a cold gust of wind swept through the forest, and I was greeted by Luke’s impatient scowl.
Where am I?
"Emily, get out of the car. Can you hear me?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the eerie stillness of the wilderness.
I blinked, dazed, my body aching. It all rushed back to me—the growls, the blood, the moon's pull. I came back to life…
Luke and I were heading back to the pack’s territory, deep in the heart of Blackwood Forest. It wasn’t my first time returning, but this time... something had changed.
Just like in my former life, Luke received that dreaded call from Ayla. His expression hardened, and without a second thought, he pulled over, shoving me out of the car and into the middle of the dark road.
"Find your way back to the village on foot," he said coldly, not bothering to meet my eyes. "I have something urgent to handle."
I looked around. The forest road was empty. A cold mist hung in the air. It wasn’t the first time Luke abandoned me like this. In his mind, Ayla was always more important. Always the one who needed him more.
