Clara chuckled softly, shaking the offered hand. "Nice to meet you, Emma. I'm Clara. I just felt like exploring the town a bit."
Emma's smile widened. "Well, you’re in the right place for that. This neighborhood is vibrant and full of life. Actually, if you’d like to get to know Luneclair, my shift’s ending soon. I could give you a little tour."
Clara hesitated for a second. She didn’t know anyone here, and the idea of a guide tempted her. "That would be really kind of you. I'd love to see more of the town."
An hour later, Emma had taken her through picturesque alleys and small markets, sharing amusing anecdotes about the locals and the town’s stories. Clara surprised herself by relaxing in Emma’s company; with her, things seemed so simple.
"So, Clara, what brings you here?" Emma asked suddenly, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Clara hesitated. She couldn’t reveal the whole truth—who she was, where she came from. She managed a small smile and answered, "Let's just say I needed a change. A fresh start."
Emma nodded, seeming to understand without prying further. "I get it. Sometimes life pushes us to look for new horizons. I left my hometown two years ago myself to settle here."
