Their expressions changed. Albert laughed. “Katherine? She’s just faking it. If she really dies, I’ll eat shit!”
Emily collapsed into Albert’s arms, crying. “Why won’t Katherine leave me alone? Why does she want me dead? Maybe I shouldn’t have come back. I shouldn’t be alive!”
Albert held Emily and said, “Mom, Dad, send Katherine away. Emily will never be okay while she’s here.”
Dad nodded seriously. “Tell the police to remove the air cushion. Katherine won’t jump. She just wants attention.”
My brother spoke to the police. “Officers, remove the air cushion. My sister’s just faking. She won’t jump. If she does, it’s not your responsibility. Katherine doesn’t have the guts to die.”
At my family’s request, the police took away the air cushion. I sighed in relief upstairs. If it stayed, I might not have died from the fall.
Albert helped Emily outside, ready to point at me and curse when I suddenly fell, landing right in front of the Blake Family and him.
There was a loud thud, blood splashing onto their faces.
