It was our silent agreement to avoid a fight. We could make a scene, but we had to respect each other’s dignity. But tonight, I didn’t care about dignity anymore.
“Ah! Felicia! What’s wrong with you?”
Emily screamed, clutching her hand and tears welling in her eyes.
“If you’re jealous of the diamond ring, go buy it yourself! Why did you steal mine? No wonder the media calls you a gold-digger!”
“I’m so sorry, Miss Rodat! Felicia drank too much tonight and isn’t thinking straight.”
“Felicia! Hurry up and return the diamond ring to Miss Rodat!”
The director rushed over, pressed my head down and whispered, “She’s the daughter of the Rodat Family! You can’t afford to provoke her.”
For me, a woman like her didn’t deserve to be called a daughter of Rodat Family.
I stared at the newly engraved initials inside the diamond ring and said calmly, “It’s mine. Why should I give it back?”
“Felicia, do you really think you can defy me today?”
The director was furious. His face turned a deep purple.
I ignored him and my gaze settled on Daniel. He stayed distant, as if none of this concerned him.
“Mr. Brottier, tell me, whose diamond ring is this?”
